Orb21 ("Platform", "we") values your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your data. By using Orb21, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

Note: We are currently in "Private Alpha." Data collection is primarily focused on verifying users, matching teams, and understanding our ecosystem's growth.

2. Data We Collect

To operate "The Forge" effectively, we collect the following:

Profile Information

Username, Role (Founder/Builder), GitHub/LinkedIn URLs, Portfolio links, and Technical Skills.

Contact Details

Email address and Discord ID for verification, notifications, and future platform invites.

Usage Metrics

Anonymized stats on page views and feature usage to calculate our "Member Count" and optimize the system.

Survey Data

Responses to intake forms regarding your project needs, team size, and budget availability.

3. Usage & Future Outreach

3.1. Matchmaking & Execution

We use your Profile and Survey data primarily to match Founders with the right Builders using our internal Vetting Algorithms. For example, if you list "React" as a skill, we match you with projects requiring a React frontend.

3.2. Census & Ecosystem Health

We aggregate user data to understand the size and composition of our network (e.g., "500+ Verified Builders"). This aggregate data may be displayed publicly but will never personally identify you without consent.

3.3. Future Communication

As we move from Alpha to Beta, we will use your contact info to:

  • Notify you when the full platform dashboard is live.
  • Send surveys to refine our product roadmap.
  • Alert you to relevant project opportunities.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only in these specific contexts:

  • With Other Users: Your "Builder Profile" (Skills, Portfolio) is visible to Founders you apply to work with.
  • Service Providers: We use third-party tools (e.g., Discord, Database Hosts, Analytics) to run our infrastructure.
  • Legal Requirements: If required by law or to protect the detailed rights/safety of Orb21 and its users.

5. Storage & Security

We implement industry-standard security measures (Encryption, Access Controls) to protect your data. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. You acknowledge that you provide data at your own risk.

6. Children's Privacy

Consistent with our Terms of Service, we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13.

For users between 13-18 ("Minors"), we require Guardian Consent. If we discover that a Minor has provided us with personal data without verified Guardian consent, we will delete that data immediately. Guardians may contact us to review or delete their child's information.

7. Cookies & Tracking

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to enhance your experience and understand how our platform is used.

Essential Cookies

Required for core functionality like authentication, security, and session management. These cannot be disabled.

Analytics Cookies

Google Analytics (GA4) helps us understand visitor behavior through anonymized metrics. These are optional and require your consent.
